Nursing liability insurance is simply malpractice protection. Some employers offer this type of insurance to their nurses, but there are a number of nurses that choose to purchase their own liability insurance for their own protection.

While some employers offer nursing liability insurance, the policies under it may still be limited. For instance, they may not be able to cover private-duty activities and off-duty incidents. In other cases, the insurance may also not take effect once the nurse transfers to another hospital, even if he or she is still involved in a case that concerns an activity made for his or her past employer. All these things make nurses susceptible to lawsuits and this is the reason why several nurses choose to invest in their own nursing liability insurance.

Nursing liability insurance typically offers claims that may amount to as much as a million dollars. Aside from this, there are also other components that make such insurances attractive. The first is personal protection. This insures the owner of liability damages that may result from work outside his or her employer’s premises. There is also personal injury protection that safeguards the owner from charges relating to slander, libel, and assault arising from the practice of the nursing profession.

Medical payments are also being offered for work-related injuries that occur in the clinic or household of the owner. Such reimbursements may amount to as much as two thousand dollars per person.

Other services are being offered together with nursing liability insurances. First, the insurance is effective on a 24 x 7 basis. This means that the owner is protected even after work hours. Legal representation is also available whenever the situation calls for such. For nurses who travel abroad, some nursing liability insurances also offer worldwide coverage.

Discounts are also given to certain groups of individuals. Student nurses may be given a discount of as much as $30 a year. Those who are new graduates may also be given a certain discount percentage. Other discount groups are retirees who still have valid licenses with them and nurses who took risk management courses.

By: Jimmy Sturo

Most disc jockeys forge ahead into the DJ world full of enthusiasm, and make their top priority the purchase of their equipment. Visions of mixers, speakers, cd decks, turntables, and effects flow through their minds. That’s all fine and expected, but when such a focus is put on the DJ’s gear; it makes no sense not to protect that investment.

Protecting the equipment with proper casing for transport is recommended and a smart practice, but that is not the focus of this article.

Strange as it may seem, many Djs operate without an insurance policy to protect them from a lawsuit. Mobile Djs operate on location and are required to carry a liability policy so that they will not be personally responsible should they be faced with a lawsuit. A liability policy – which can many times be purchased from standard car insurance companies – will ensure that the Dj’s personal assets are not attacked in a lawsuit.

The profession of Djing has gone through radical changes in the last decade. Equipment has grown in all arenas. Speakers have gotten a major overhaul. They are lighter, cleaner in sound, and more powerful. Many are even self powered, where a separate amplifier is not required.

Advances in computer technology has allowed for today’s Djs to operate with a laptop computer and proper software. In an industry where it’s practitioners had to carry heavy turntables and crates of records, modern day Djs may never touch a cd. One can only hope that the new wave of thinking will carry on into the arena of proper business practice where insurance is concerned.

It makes no sense to invest so much into equipment and then have a flagrant disregard for protecting a business and it’s assets.

Insurance companies have become aware of the mobile DJ profession and many car insurance providers have responded by offering discounted plans for thaose Djs that choose to combine their car and liability insurance with the same carrier. It’s as simple as going online to a few car insurance providers and filling out quote request forms to find the best rate.

All prospective Djs would be well advised to find adequate insurance before forging ahead into the entertainment world. As has been said about insurance: “It’s better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.”

By: Ray Mardo

Sometimes, it may happen that you have an auto insurance company that you are using, but you may have missed out on a premium payment. This may not be much reason to worry as most car insurance companies usually give their clients a grace period, though the exact period is dependent on the auto insurance company as well as the guidelines they are governed by.

No-Fault Policies

You may also find that there are some car insurance companies that have a no-fault Car Insurance clause, while others may not. The reason why some companies have this kind of policy while others do not is because they need to abide by the laws of the state, and not every state has a no-fault insurance policy requirement.

If you are a driver that requires liability insurance, the auto insurance companies usually will give to you forms known as SR-22 that are used to get driver’s licenses that have been suspended or revoked to be reinstated. Such a requirement is accompanied with the car insurance company informing the state should you cancel or forget to pay or terminate your insurance policy.

If your insurance company does not provide the SR-22 forms you will be deemed to be a high-risk, which means you will need to go to a company with this facility; otherwise you may not be able to get your auto insured. Before you are able to find the best auto insurance companies you will need to investigate a number of different variables regarding how each company compares to the others in their offerings.

You will only have touched half of the necessary factors if you only go by premium rates and overall rates. You will also need to find the right car insurance company that provides proper coverage as well as liability and compare the rates across the gamut of such companies. You will no doubt be aware of Esurance, which is a major American auto insurance company, and closely following this insurance company is Progressive Insurance that provides comparisons to the competing companies on its website, and also claims that it can give you a quote in just eight minutes flat.

Other notable auto insurance companies include GEICO Direct, 21st Century Insurance, Comparison Market, as well as American Automobile Association, Car Insurance Quotes, Mercury Insurance Group as also National Motor Club and Hagerty Insurance. These are companies that have similar systems though the competition among them is stiff, which means you may have to haggle with them before getting a good deal.

Shopping for cheap auto insurance in California can be a labyrinthine process, but there are a few basics that it can be broken down into which allows you to see the big picture. In 6 easy steps, you can know exactly what you need to look for and how to get a low cost policy.

Step 1: Do you have any assets?

Do you have any lare assets that someone could sue you for? Technically you are personally liable for any damage you cause to another person which goes above the amounts you’re insurance covers.

Step 2: Do you have a car worth $10,000 or more?

Is your car relatively new, and still worth quite a bit? If so, you will want to get car insurance that covers

Step 3: Decide on liability

If you answered yes to Step 2, then you’ll want to purchase more car insurance liability than the California minimum requires. Your policy won’t be as cheap, but you’ll cover your assets in case of a law suit. On the other hand, if you answered no to Step 1, then consider going with the lowest liability insurance you can. California requires 15/30/5 by law.

Step 4: Decide on collision and comprehensive

If you answered yes to Step 2, you will then want to consider getting both comprehensive and collision car insurance. Collision will cover your vehicle in a crash, no matter whose fault it was. Comprehensive will cover your vehicle in case of theft, fire, etc. If you answered no to Step 2, then you may want to consider forgoing the collision and comprehensive and risk having to cough up the money to do your own repairs.

Step 5: Get discounts

To get your California auto insurance as cheap as possible, first consider going with a very high deductible. A deductible is the amount you pay first before insurance picks up the rest of the tab, and if you ask for a high one, you will get an overall cheaper premium. You can also get discounted insurance by having airbags and certain security devices installed on your car, but check with the local insurance companies to see what discounts they actually offer as they change frequently.

Following the above five steps, you should be able to determine if you should go with low or high liability, and if it’s worth adding collision and comprehensive or not, and how high your deductible should be. Now, shop around! Using what you know you need, compare prices and you will be able to get a cheap California auto insurance policy!

When attempting to make an auto insurance comparison, not having sufficient knowledge of the industry can make it difficult. Auto insurance is broken into many parts and having a good general understanding of each of its elements is important to compare it accurately.

Liability Insurance

Liability insurance is required by most states’ laws, although the minimum amount of coverage required varies from state to state. Understanding those limits and what this coverage entails is very necessary in making an auto insurance comparison. Generally this type of coverage will be broken down to look something like: $25,000/$50,000/$25,000. This breakdown stands for: bodily injury liability maximum per person in one accident/ bodily injury liability maximum per accident counting all people involved/ property damage liability maximum.

Using the numbers above for example, if a person is in an accident in which they are found at fault, their insurance will only cover up to those amounts. So if that person is found at fault and the necessary amounts exceed his or her coverage limits, they will likely be held responsible to pay the additional amount out of pocket.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage

There is a type of insurance available to help protect motorists from uninsured or underinsured drivers. This type of coverage varies depending on the state but can offer additional protection to the insured, generally for a nominal fee.

Comprehensive and Collision Coverage

Also known as full coverage, comprehensive and collision insurance insure a persons’ car in the event they are at fault during an accident or other types of damage occur to their vehicle. An understanding of this type of coverage is essential in order to make an effective auto insurance comparison, as it can impact pricing greatly.

This coverage will appear in a format similar to $500/$500. This means that in the event something happens to your vehicle that is covered by your comprehensive or collision insurance, you will have to pay $500 per incident out of pocket and the insurance company will cover the rest.

Rental Reimbursement and Roadside Assistance

Understanding optional coverage such as rental reimbursement and roadside assistance (or towing coverage) can make a large difference when making an auto insurance comparison. Rental car reimbursement will cover a certain amount (depending on the coverage selected) per day of rental car charges should your vehicle become unavailable for a certain period of time due to an accident.

Roadside assistance coverage allows the insured to receive a variety of emergency services (depending on the plan) for free or a reduced charge. A person having his or her car towed is one example of this type of coverage.

Medical Coverage

Required and optional medical coverage varies greatly from state to state. Some states require insured to carry no-fault medical which covers them in the event of an accident, regardless of fault. Other states do not have this provision so insured are able to carry a certain amount, depending on their state laws and needs. Understanding medical coverage is essential to make an auto insurance comparison as it can cause rates to vary greatly.

Plenty of people are certainly aiming to get the lowest rate when it comes to Detroit auto insurance. Well, who doesn’t want lower rates? Who wants to pay too much for car insurance? As much as possible, people would like to spend less in everything especially on insurance policies.

With this reason, people came up with a lot of solutions on how they could lower their rates. They are considering every possible options and solutions. Plenty of people just choose to purchase the minimum liability auto insurance because they noticed that this is the most affordable type of insurance compared to the other types of insurance.

As we all know, the government is mandating everyone to get even the minimum liability insurance. Getting this car insurance is good because at least you have your own insurance. Maybe you are now thinking of purchasing one. But before you do that you must know that there are also some disadvantages when it comes to type of insurance. You must be aware of all of these things before you finally decide to purchase the minimum liability auto insurance so that you will not have any regrets in the end.

There are usually three types of Detroit auto insurance and those are the comprehensive auto insurance, collision, and the minimum liability auto insurance. As I have said, the advantage of the minimum among the two is that it is more affordable but when it comes to coverage the other two covered more. Obviously, the minimum liability auto insurance only covered the minimum. This means that it only has limited coverage. In case you will be involved in an accident where there are terrible damages and injuries, you must not expect the insurance to pay for all of it because it will pay only the minimum. There is a need for you to pay all the rest. If you will compute the expenses, you will discover that you will have lesser expenses if you will just purchase the collision or comprehensive insurance than the minimum liability auto insurance. At first, it seems that the minimum liability auto insurance is a great way to save a lot of money but sooner or later, when you will get yourself involved in an accident you will see the truth and that truth is that it is more practical to get the insurance policies which have bigger coverage.

If you will get insurance policies with bigger coverage, there will be no need for you to pay a lot of fines in the damages and injuries because all of those things are already covered by the insurance. Aside from saving a lot of money, you also save yourself from a lot of hassles and problems. So, if you are planning to get Detroit auto insurance, it will be wiser if you will choose the insurance with the best coverage. Now that you already know the disadvantages of purchasing the minimum liability auto insurance, I hope that you will now consider getting the other types of insurance.

For those passionate about collecting and restoring classic muscle cars, few things can be as important as protecting these symbols of Americana. For this reason, many classic car enthusiasts will tell you that aside from the car itself, the most important thing about collecting and restoring classic muscle cars is carrying the right auto insurance. There are many companies out there that offer specialty insurance; in order to choose the right company for you, and certainly before shopping around, you need to ask yourself a few questions.

First off, where do you take your car? If you participate in club events and car shows, there is coverage available for damage incurred at both, as well as liability insurance. Many companies extend these coverages for overseas event as well. If these types of coverage are appropriate for your situation, then consider how much coverage you are going to want and/or need. A helpful tip of advice is to think worst case scenario at an event, and then get enough coverage for that.

Second, ask yourself some questions about the car itself. If you are still in the restoration process, do you need coverage for the duration? And afterward, do you want to be able to choose your own mechanic? Do you want to insure your baby for the actual dollar amount she is worth, or for what she’s worth to you? As you are answering these questions, write them down, and be prepared to ask the insurance representative for exactly what you want.

Once you know what type of coverage you want, how much you want it for, and what types of requirements you have for a policy, then it’s time to shop around. You can do this a few different ways. You can do some research into the leading classic car insurance companies, and make some good old fashioned phone calls. Or, you can take advantage of the car insurance quote comparison websites available on the Internet. No matter what route you choose, be prepared to ask the representatives for what you want. They want your business, and are ready to help you find the right policy for your situation.

You can’t put a price on a classic muscle car like a 1967 Pontiac GTO, especially when you’ve put your heart and soul into a perfect restoration. So protect that emotional and monetary investment, and get the perfect auto insurance policy for keeping it safe.

By: Rick Swanson

If you don’t already know by now, auto insurance companies use your vehicle as a major determining factor in calculating what you pay for your desired amounts of coverage. Fast, small, and sporty cars all get penalized in the form of high premiums for the car they drive. Unfortunately, most convertibles fit at least one of these criteria.

At a glance, this practice may seem unfair to drivers of said cars. However, auto insurance providers put large amounts of money on the table for each one of their clients. In order to stay in business, it is necessary for them to charge the driver of these cars more.

But it doesn’t go without logic and reason. You become a liability to the insurance company when damage is caused to yourself and property, and the health of others and their property, when you are at fault. As you can imagine, this could get costly. And statistics show that drivers of small, fast cars are more prone to such action. These cars are generally more dangerous, expensive, and result in more bodily injury. Blame it on those pesky, reckless, young drivers, or blame it on the insurance companies, but either way, it is unlikely to change.

Convertible drivers also end up paying more for their auto insurance coverage for these very reasons. By nature, convertibles are more dangerous than your average sedan or even sports cars, with soft or removable roof, it doesn’t take much for you and your convertible to take some serious damage. This increases your financial liability in the eyes of your insurance provider, and they quote you accordingly.

Save Money When You Insure Your Convertible
A new convertible will cost you upwards of $20,000 for most models and are expensive to insure but there are saving to be had. The most obvious way to save when buying convertible auto insurance is to check all your available options. It’s easy to do so by getting multiple quotes, which can be done in just minutes by getting an online auto insurance quote comparison. Selecting a policy with high deductibles will help you save on your premiums and paying for 6 months or a years worth of insurance can score you some serious discounts.

If it an older convertible, you can choose lower amounts of collision coverage, as the car may not be worth much. If your convertible happens to be an older collector’s car, you may qualify for collectible car insurance which understands that an older car may be worth more than its Kelly’s Blue Book value. If you only drive your convertible during the summer or on sunny weekends, you may also qualify for low mileage auto coverage, which charges by the mile, rather than a flat monthly rate.

By: James K Shaffer

If you own an automobile, you most likely know something about auto insurance, but there’s a lot to consider when deciding what type of auto insurance to purchase for your car. Understanding the basics of auto insurance will help you make the choice that best suits your needs.

An auto insurance policy offers a variety of types of coverage. This includes the following:

Liability provides coverage for any bodily injury and property damage to others for which the insured is determined responsible. Generally, liability coverage also extends to any rental car.

Collision covers any damage to the policy holder’s own vehicle in any type of collision. Collision pays for the repair of the vehicle, or for the cash value of the vehicle if it is deemed “totaled.”

Comprehensive coverage pays for any loss or damage to the vehicle from an incident other than collision. This includes, but is not limited to, theft, fire, weather, and impact with an animal.

Loan/lease payoff, or GAP, coverage is designed to provide protection during the time shortly after purchase/lease, when the car’s value has sharply depreciated, and there is a gap between the actual value of the vehicle and the amount owed.

Loss of use, or rental reimbursement, covers the cost of a rental car to replace the insured car while it is being repaired after it is damaged in an accident.

Medical coverage pays any medical expenses (regardless of fault) incurred in an auto accident.

PIP, or Personal injury protection pays any medical expenses (regardless of fault) for the insured driver for treatment due to an automobile accident. It at times also covers lost wages and other damages and is required in some states. It is sometimes deemed “no-fault” coverage because premium costs should not increase due to filing a PIP claim.

Uninsured motorist coverage pays for any damage to the car caused by a motorist without liability insurance.

Under-insured motorist coverage pays for any damage to the car caused by a motorist with insufficient liability insurance.

Most states require auto insurance, but the amount required varies from state to state. It’s a good idea to know what is required in your state, as well as what optional coverage is worth considering. Each state’s requirement is stated in terms of bodily injury liability limits and property damage liability limits, and anything beyond this is optional.

There are many factors to consider when determining what coverage suits your needs. For instance, consider your vehicle and how much would it cost to replace or repair it. Whether or not to opt for collision or comprehensive is based on the value of the vehicle. Don’t forget that other types of insurance, such as health and home owner’s, may cover the damages caused by an automobile accident.

In short, determining the amount of auto insurance, like any type of insurance, to purchase is about how much the policy holder is willing to pay out of pocket compared to how much they wish the insurance company to cover.

By: Quin Bailey Rodger
